Miami P1 – First title for Josemaría and González, Chingalan Do It Again

After nearly five hours of high-stakes action at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Miami Premier Padel P1 champions were crowned — and once again, it was the No. 2 seeds who lifted the trophies in both draws.

Just like last year, the result underlined the razor-thin margins and unpredictability that are set to define the entire Premier Padel season.

Women’s Final Paula Josemaría and Bea González claimed their first Premier Padel title together in thrilling fashion. After winning the opening set 6-3, they dropped the second 6-4 and found themselves trailing 5-3 in the decider against 2025 Miami champions Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay.

In a dramatic comeback, the Spanish pair reeled off four straight games to seal the victory in two hours and 57 minutes.

“We have worked very hard,” an emotional Josemaría said afterwards. “We dreamed of this first victory together. Thank you to everyone who always supports us. We are very happy and I dedicate this win to my family for their fundamental support.”

González added: “The season had not started in the best way, but we have worked very hard with the help of our team. We have our identity and we have maintained it, focusing on improving the details. Today we enjoy this title.”

Men’s Final The men’s decider was equally tight, with Fede Chingotto and Ale Galán defeating Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 in one hour and 51 minutes.

The match was decided by the smallest of margins: Chingotto/Galán finished with 42 smashes to 38, 60 winners to 57, and two fewer unforced errors (23 to 25). The win marked their second title of 2026 (after Gijón) and their second consecutive Miami triumph.

“Thank you to the crowd for coming, it was a very demanding tournament and I am pleased to have won it again,” said Galán. “Arturo and Agustín are a strong team, but through daily work we aim to achieve results like this, also thanks to Federico, who was the best player in this final and whom I am pleased to have alongside me.”

Chingotto added: “Every final is a different challenge. We continue to work as ‘Chingalán’ and now focus on the next tournament.”
